The article carries out an analysis of recent mechanisms and practices of popular participation in Cuba, with emphasis on the referendum on the Family Code. Hence, the normative configuration of the referendum in the 2019 constitutional text is examined and its practical application in 2022 is analyzed. In this sense, learning is systematized and proposals are made in pursuit of the improvement of this mechanism and others such as the consultation Popular used also in this process.
