LAUDANI, Maria. Vincenzo Consolo and his visión of Spain in Conversación en Sevilla and Filosofiana. UH [online]. 2023, n.298  Epub 01-Dez-2023. ISSN 0253-9276.

This article deals with the writing style of the Sicilian author Vincenzo Consolo (1933-2012), as well as the cultural relations that the writer woven with Spain, where he has been dedicated Congresses and where his works are translated and find notable success. On the other hand, it is emphasized that the works of Consolo are characterized by a peculiar language, rich in archaic forms and based on Sicilian, a dialect rich in Hispanisms that can be found in several accounts of Consolo, and which have offered and continue to offer an unexplored field of study and research. Then we examine two texts of Consolo, Conversation in Seville, work that is written directly in Spanish but with the seal of authenticity of the author, and the story Filosofiana, of which both the contents and the problem of translation are treated. From this analysis, the originality of the Sicilian writer is evident, not only in terms of the arguments of the works, but also in their language; on the other hand, the privileged relationship that Consolo had with Spanish culture and literature clearly emerges.
