Abstract

NUNEZ JOVER, Jorge  and  MONTALVO ARRIETE, Luis F. Policy of Science, Technology, and Innovation in Cuba, and the Role of the Universities. Rev. Cubana Edu. Superior [online]. 2015, vol.34, n.1, pp.29-43. ISSN 0257-4314.

The present article introduces an evaluation of the Cuban policy towards science, technology, and innovation policy (STIP), for the period 1995 - 2010, and comments on the role of universities in the innovation system in the light of the new Cuban economic model. Supported by the study of such policy analysis' results, it stresses the need to design a new STIP that will support new theoretical approaches, and incorporates the features of a new economic and social scenario in Cuba.
