Dialectical relationship between professional training for odontologists and need for dental laboratory technicians to get involved in stomatognathic services is essential for these to be comprehensive. This work is aimed at showing the need for dental laboratory technicians to be included in a multidisciplinary team by professionalizing their job, rethinking theories thereof, making changes to curriculum, and creating a new methodology intended to assess population's stomatognathic needs.
