This paper carries out a theoretical analysis of educational work done by means of university extension programs and in residence halls provided by cuban higher education institutions, with the aim of determining tendencies, evolution, and effects of this work on comprehensive training given to students, who spend some of their time in them and take part in such programs. Historical-logical and systemic-structural methods of analysis were used, which allowed an evolutionary study to be conducted and some scientific conclusions reached.
