In face of the changing world, the universities shall assume the challenge of working for an updating of their academic offer. Among the strategies used for the continuous improvement of the study programs of the different careers, there is the performance of graduate studies, which, beyond collecting information, they can contribute to reinforce the academic processes. The present work is aimed evaluating the potentialities of the graduates' follow-up process (GFP) towards the professional guidance of the students and candidates to engineering careers. It is based on data obtained by the Employment Exchange and Graduates´ Follow-up of the Faculty of Mechanic and Electric Engineering (FIME) (Facultad de Ingeniería Mecánica y Eléctrica) in Mexico.
