CHERREZ VINTIMILLA, Paúl Fernando QUEVEDO SACOTO, Andrés Sebastián. Influence of the Use of Simulation Software as an Educational Tool Supporting Teaching-Learning Process in the Subject Data Communication and Computer Networks, on Systems Engineering Degree Course. []. , 37, 3 ISSN 0257-4314.
The practical application of theoretical concepts to real-life situations allows students to considerably learn. The Systems Engineering degree course does not have a networking lab, which is why the use of Packet Tracer as a simulation tool in the subject Data Communication and Computer Networks is suggested as a solution to this problem. The use of the software was assessed at two different times of the degree course. This clearly showed that learning was fostered by using the simulator, that students were more motivated to problem solving, and that they judged the software to be positive. The software as a support tool has a positive influence on teaching-learning process to a great extent and therefore it is suggested professors that they use it.
