Resumen
GONZALEZ DUENEZ, Valeria Paola. Design, Adaptation and Reliability of an Instrument to Measure Engineering Students’ Competencies. Rev. Cubana Edu. Superior [online]. 2019, vol.38, n.1, e18. ISSN 0257-4314.
This work was aimed at identifying competencies specific to software engineers, by designing, adapting, and validating a measuring instrument. The procedure to define what items should be included in the instrument, and test its reliability was also presented. A total of 217 software engineering students were assessed, by measuring their knowledge of information and communication technologies, software development, maintenance, project management, technological development, and the way in which they develop software with emerging technologies. The results provide educational institutions with a properly validated instrument for decision-making regarding qualifications which professionals-to-be should have.
