The progress and socio-cultural needs that are taking place nowadays make it necessary to prepare future generations to orient themselves and act in a world where cultural training has become a vital component for human activity. This article contributes to the integral formation of the university student. It aims to show the impact of the sociocultural approach in this process. In this sense, it presents the main results achieved by the Faculty of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering (FIME) of the Autonomous University of Nuevo Leon, in Mexico, in the socialization of good practices already existing in the institution, which contribute to the development of society from the professional and humanistic training of students from the sociocultural approach. Its significance in correspondence with the fulfillment of the institutional mission of higher education is revealing.
