Abstract

ANDIA VALENCIA, Walter; YAMPUFE CORNETERO, Manuel  and  ANTEZANA ALZAMORA, Sonia. University Social Responsibility: From the Social Approach to the Sustainable Approach. Rev. Cubana Edu. Superior [online]. 2021, vol.40, n.3, e19.  Epub July 01, 2021. ISSN 0257-4314.

Universities as institutions of higher education dedicated to the generation and dissemination of knowledge carry out an important work in the development of a better society and its interaction in it. To this end, it is necessary to determine an appropriate management model that allows incorporating the different interrelation approaches internally and externally with its stakeholders. Thus, one of the fundamental terms in the field of higher education today is university social responsibility (USR). This has usually considered the impacts that the institution generates and the processes of interaction with the community; important progress in the framework of the University Law, but with limited progress in its institutionalization and management. This work determines a new definition of university responsibility from an institutional management perspective and incorporates the sustainability approach.

Keywords : institutional management; interest groups; sustainability.
