Understanding university educational virtualization, starting from the institutional projection of the formative use of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT), requires an initial understanding of the importance of this topic for the development of Higher Education, and for the re-dimensioning of its environments, processes and functions. The current direction of Higher Education and the role that ICTs play in it, impose the institutional requirement to think, support and implement alternatives that make it possible to take advantage of the potential that the current technological universe offers to training spaces. Precisely, the article under consideration assumes as its main purpose, the determination of the guidelines that guide the deployment of educational virtualization in the university context.
