Lajera is a new variety released by the classical hybridization method, which has high yields, quality for fresh consumption and field resistance to A. solani and potato leaf roll virus (PLRV). It has been commercially recorded as a new Cuban variety, granted by the National Institute of Plant Protection from the Ministry of Agriculture of Cuba.
