^les^aLa medida del área foliar se realiza generalmente mediante métodos destructivos y laboriosos, por lo que se requiere establecer métodos no destructivos en la medida que sea posible. En el presente trabajo nos trazamos como objetivo: encontrar un método no destructivo para estimar el área foliar en posturas de mamey (Pauteria sapota (Jaccq), utilizando las medidas lineales de sus hojas. Con el largo se logra un buen ajuste independientemente del ancho de las hojas con poca diferencia del alcanzado con el producto de la longitud de la hoja x su ancho y tomando en consideración también, que el comportamiento de los residuos obtenido por el largo fue muy similar al logrado por el producto del largo x el ancho de las hojas.^len^aThe measure of the area to be foliated generally carries out by means of destructive and laborious methods, for what requires to settle down non destructive methods in the measure that is possible.
