Resumen

SALOMON DIAZ, Jorge L et al. Study of the flowering and true potato seed production by open pollinitation in potato (Solanum tuberosum, L.) genotype in Cuba. cultrop [online]. 2012, vol.33, n.2, pp.61-67. ISSN 0258-5936.

During the campaigns 2005-2006, 2006-2007 and 2007-2008 were planted on 12, 15 and 18 December respectively three experiments to study the flowering to 12 potato genotypes. The genotypes 2-130-98, Gorbea, Samila, Yara, Lajera, 03.06.98, 9-80-98 and Aninca as female parents to produce lots of flowers. There was significant variability among potato genotypes for the average mass of 100 seeds. There was a range of 0.040 to 0.061 g in this study. The genotypes used in this study shows that under conditions of short-day photoperiod is obtained with 5 to 19 flowers.stem-1, fruit set percentage ranging from 64 to 100 %, number of seeds per fruit of 60 to 162 seed weight 100 of from 0.040 to 0.061 g and yield 1.80 to 12.2 g seed.plant-1 between December and March in field conditions. Results that could be because most of the genotypes used in this study may have genes for flowering and true seed production of the subspecies andigena, adapted to short days.
