OTERO GOMEZ, Lázara et al. Modification to the Schatchabell method for the determination of exchangeable bases in salinity soils. cultrop [online]. 2013, vol.34, n.4, pp. 20-23. ISSN 0258-5936.
To eliminate the inconvenient that Schatchabell method has with the determination of exchangeable bases in salts affected soils, by the influence of joint extraction of soluble ions and adsorbed base, was studied the possible introduction of a modification that consist in the preview elimination of soluble ions in the self Schatchabell tube with alcohol solutions and after the use of NC 65: 2010 Standard. The results in the samples of 0 to 20 cm shown that 25 % and 50 % ethylic alcohol solutions ameliorated the relations between CEC and BEC of the soils, while in the samples of 0 to 100 cm, these extractions respect to control method (Pfeffer), showed the convenience of the use of 50 % ethylic alcohol solution because the finished results haven’t statistic differences with the Pfeffer method.
