^les^aEn Cuba, existe necesidad de contar con variedades e híbridos de pimiento (Capsicum annuum L.) con resistencia múltiple a las principales enfermedades virales (virus Y de la papa PVY, virus del grabado del tabaco TEV), de frutos grandes y buena adaptación climática para ser explotados a campo abierto. Este trabajo tuvo por objetivo validar nuevos híbridos y variedades de pimiento a campo abierto, con atributos de buen comportamiento agronómico, adaptación climática y altos rendimientos. Se estudiaron 13 híbridos y cuatro variedades comparados con los testigos comerciales resistentes Milord F₁ (Francia) y Lical (Cuba), a los cuales se le evaluaron caracteres morfológicos (largo, ancho y altura de la planta y densidad de ramificación, densidad de hoja y ancho de las hojas) y productivos (largo y diámetro del fruto, grosor del pericarpio, número de frutos por planta, masa promedio del fruto (g), rendimiento (kg.planta^-1 y t.ha^-1). Los resultados obtenidos arrojaron que los híbridos RTx638, RTxLB, 638xRT, RTx625, RTx625a y 638xNv; al igual que las variedades RT y 638, manifestaron alto potencial de rendimiento y adaptación al trópico, para campo abierto.^len^aIn Cuba, we need to have new F₁ hybrids and varieties of pepper (Capsicum annuum, L.) with multiple resistances to virus diseases (virus Y of the potato PVY, virus of the engraving of the tobacco TEV); they also need to offer big fruits, climate change adaptation and possibility to grow in open field. This work had for objective validation in open field conditions of new F1 hybrids and varietes with good agronomic behaviour, climate change adaptation and high yield. 13 F₁ hybrids and four varieties are involved and tested with commercial resistant cultivars F₁ Milord from France and Lical from Cuba, to which were evaluated morphological characters (long, wide and height of the plant and ramification density, leaf density and wide of the leaves) and productive (long and diameter of the fruit, grosor of the pericarp, number of fruits for plant, mass average of the fruit (g) y yield (kg.planta^-1 and t.ha^-1). The obtained results hurtled that the hybrid RTx638, RTxLB, 638xRT, RTx625, RTx625a and 638xNv; the same as the varieties RT and 638, they manifested high yield potential and adaptation to the tropic, for open field.
