Resumen

MARTINEZ TRIANA, Raúl et al. Psychosocial study of a group of adult hemophilic patients eighteen years after having been studied in their childhood. Rev Cubana Hematol Inmunol Hemoter [online]. 2002, vol.18, n.3. ISSN 0864-0289.

The personality traits, the psychopathological profile, the psychosocial aspects and the knowledge about the illness were studied in 19 adult hemophilic patients who had been psychologically evaluated when they were children. Sixteen personality factors test, Minessota´s Personality Many-Sided Inventory, a psychosocial interview and a disease knowledge survey were used in this study. The subjects can be described as reserved, emotional and dependent. The psychopathological profile of this group corresponds to persons with depression, sadness, difficulties in expressing their feelings, unsteadiness and lack of love. 21% showed difficulties to integrate themselves to social activities. 52% are married. All of them have an educational level of 9th grade. 78% are active workers. All of them know very well the fundamental aspects of their disease. A more favorable psychosocial situation was observed in this group than that reported in this type of patients some decades ago
