ESCARPANTER BULIES, Julio César; CEBALLOS MESA, Alfredo  e  UGARTE SUAREZ, Carlos. Estudio de la vascularidad de focos seudoartrósicos mediante angiografía por sustracción digital. Rev Cubana Invest Bioméd [online]. 1996, vol.15, n.2. ISSN 0864-0300.

Twenty eight patients suffering from posttraumatic dyaphiseal pseudoarthrosis, diagnosed by using the habitual methods, were studied. All of them underwent a vascular study of the lesion focus aimed at showing the alterations of their vascularity by a digital substraction angiography. The results of the variables, osteal element and region affected, were correlated and compared with the classical schemes to evaluate the complication under study. Finally, a statistical analysis was made. According to the images obtained an evaluative pattern was established to determine the focal vascularity, which demonstrated that 85,7 % of the cases presented a deficient or null vascularity, with no connection with the osteal element or the region involved. The high diagnostic effectiveness of the method is stressed, and the lack of relation between the estimate of focal vascularity by simple radiological study and the result of the angiographic study is proved.
