The possible irritant effect of a formulation that will be used as a deodorant and that contains methenamine, a urinary antiseptic, as an active principle, is evaluated. This formulation was applied by ophthalmic route to 6 New Zealand breed rabbits for 7 days. The assessments are based on the macroscopic observations of the possible adverse effects appearing in the skin structures.
