Resumen

HERNANDEZ HERNANDEZ, Bárbara Aymeé  y  BROWN MARTINEZ, Marta. Clinical, imaging and electrophysiological correlation in a case of sacroccygeus neurofibroma. Rev Cubana Invest Bioméd [online]. 2004, vol.23, n.3, pp.169-176. ISSN 0864-0300.

It was considered a case with diagnosis of sacrococcygeus neurofibroma, which was very well studied from the clinical, imaging and neurophysiological point of view aimed at showing the correlation degree among these studies. A nerve conduction study of the posterior tibial nerve, H reflex, electromiography of Recibido: 8 de septiembre de 2003. Aprobado: 6 de abril de 2004. muscles depending on the lumbosacral plexus, somatosensorial evoked potentials and F wave of the posterior tibial nerve were performed. This way, it was proved the existance of a functional disorder in the medullary segments from L4-S2 with motor predominance. The myelography and nuclear magnetic imaging showed the existance of an expansive process at the sacroccocygeus level. The usefulness of the neurophysiological studies in the diagnosis of tumoral affections, together with the imaging studies that define the anatomical alterations was proved and the morphofunctional diagnosis of these pathologies was completed
