FERNANDEZ ROMERO, Tammy; GONZALEZ GRIEGO, Antonio Mario; FERNANDEZ ACOSTA, Félix Juan  e  GONZALEZ RAMIREZ, Victoria Esther. Proposal of the enzymatic activity as a ruling analytical procedure in the evaluation of conjugates. Rev Cubana Invest Bioméd [online]. 2006, vol.25, n.3. ISSN 0864-0300.

The use of the determination of the enzymatic activity without the mediation of the antigen-antibody interaction was proposed as an initial analytical procedure in the evaluation of immunoenzymatic conjugates. The conjugates used in the immunoenzymatic methods should be evaluated once they are obtained and at certain time intervals. As in these procedures the signal obtained depends on the enzymatic product formed, it would be convenient to start the evaluation by determining the activity of the enzyme independently of the product as a conjugate. It was suggested a method based on the direct addition of the conjugate to the support used for the enzymatic immunoassay, and immediately after the enzyme substrate. The way of interpreting the results was included, and it was concluded that it is a simple procedure that may play a ruling role in the evaluation of these reagents.

Palavras-chave : ELISA; evaluation of conjugates; enzymatic activity.
