A retrospective and descriptive study of a sample of 80 women selected from 497 pregnant women admitted to the Nutritional Maternal Hospital «Vista Alegre» in Santiago de Cuba was undertaken from January to July, 1997. Some aspects od the Conscious Motherhood and Paternity program were evaluated in the sample. The level of knowledge of these pregnant women on breast-feeding and psychoprophylaxis and contraception methods were proved. They also have adequate knowledge on pregnancy, nutrition and labortherapy activities developed in the maternal home.
