Resumen

GUERRA VERANES, Xiomara et al. Resultados de los costos en ozonoterapia. Rev Cubana Enfermer [online]. 1999, vol.15, n.2, pp.104-108. ISSN 0864-0319.

To determine the cost results in the application of ozone therapy using different ways of administration, a prospective descriptive and analytical study of 1 960 patients with retinitis pigmentosa who were ozone-treated in the Provincial Center of Retinitis Pigmentosa in Santiago de Cuba was undertaken from July 1993 to July 1997. For primary data collection, a model was worked out to reflect the information obtained from economic control reports (Cost Records). Percentage method was used as an summary method so as to make required comparisons. One of the most relevant results was rectum as the most used ways of administration (90 %) with an overall cost of 102,52 dollars; 1993 exhibited the lowest cost whereas 1996 accounted for the highest figure due to a reduction in the number of patients. This showed the importance of nurse-patient relation which decisively contribute to the acceptance of rectal way of administration by patients.

Palabras clave : OZONE [therapeutical use/econ]; HEALTH CARE COSTS; RETINITIS PIGMENTOSA [therapy].
