Abstract

CABRERA FERNANDEZ, Miriam  and  YERA MARTINEZ, Delis. Complicaciones de la braquiterapia en pacientes con cáncer cervicouterino. Rev Cubana Enfermer [online]. 2000, vol.16, n.3, pp.167-170. ISSN 0864-0319.

Se realizó un estudio descriptivo y transversal de 144 pacientes con carcinoma de cuello uterino, ingresadas en el Hospital Oncológico de Santiago de Cuba en 1996, con el propósito de analizar las complicaciones más frecuentes al tratarlas con braquiterapia; entre ellas predominó la rectitis grado II. También prevalecieron las diarreas y la disuria, como síntomas del aparato digestivo y genitourinario, respectivamente. El dolor en hipogastrio estuvo presente durante el tratamiento y se destacó la hipertensión arterial como enfermedad concurrente. Al mayor número de la muestra recibió 5 aplicaciones endocavitarias.
