A descriptive and cross-sectorial study of 144 patientw with carcinoma of the cervix uteri, hospitalized in the Oncological Hospital of Santiago de Cuba province in 1996 was performed with the purpose of analyzing the most frequent treated with brachytherapy; among them 2nd degree rectitis prevailed. The diarrheas and dysuria also prevailed, as symptoms of the digestive and genito-urinary tracts, respectively. The pain in the hypogastrium was pfresent during the treatment and arterial hypertension stood out as a concurrent disease. The largest number of the sample was given 5 endocavity applications.
