Abstract

A descriptive, retrospective and cross-sectional study of the staff that carried out the nursing care process in the health area of that carried out the nursing care process in the health area of "Alberto Fernández Montes de Oca" community polyclinic of San Luis municipality was conducted during the periodo October-December of 1996, with the objective of evaluating its application in the primary level of care. To this end, 14 of the 28 nurses working in the family physician offices were taken as a sample: the primary information was obtained from interview performed to each of them and from the reviews applied to the individual medical histories and to the file of familial register; these data were expressed in a survey form that comprised the variables of interest. It was found that all the staff applied nursing care process to house admissions and dysfunctional families, with prevalence in subjects under 15 years old; there was good quality in the preparation of the diagnoses, expectations and actions of nursing in ost of the cases, which had a satisfactory technical-professional evaluation.
