Resumen

BANDERAS VARGAS, Teresa de Jesús. Eficacia de la auriculoterapia y combinación de auriculoterapia y tuina en la bursitis de hombro. Rev Cubana Enfermer [online]. 2001, vol.17, n.1, pp.14-19. ISSN 0864-0319.

An open, controlled, non-sequential early stage II clinical assay was made among 60 patients of both sexes aged 15-60 from the Orthopedics Outpatient Department of "Octavio de la Concepción y de la Pedraja" Military Hospital, in Camagüey, from March to August, 1998. These patients were diagnosed and divided into 2 groups of 30 patients each, according to the treatment received: auriculotherapy and the combination of auriculotherapy and "tuiná". The percentage method was applied by this therapy, which made possible that 65 % of the patients evolved asymptomatically and that the rest (35 %) improved, accounting for 100 % of efficiency. It was observed a predominance of the age group 45-54 (70 %). The intensity of pain decreased in 98.3 % of the cases, whereas the angle of the shoulder movements increased in 100 % of the patients. The results showed that both procedures are innocuous, useful and efficient. The individuals under combined treatment (Group 2) began to improve from the 4th session on and those from group 1 did so from the seventh session on. No adverse reactions were observed.
