Resumen

ABASCAL RAMOS, Mainé  y  ACOSTA SARIEGO, José Ramón. Consideraciones acerca de la aplicación de una ética renovada al proceso de atención de enfermería. Rev Cubana Enfermer [online]. 2001, vol.17, n.1, pp.20-26. ISSN 0864-0319.

In spite of the changes occurred in the health sphere, nursing ethics has remained very attached to the traditional schemes centered on beneficence and care. However, the new demands of the profession require a qualitative change of the care pattern that makes more emphasis on the role of values in the decision making process. To this end, different approaches are analyzed in literature regarding the procedures of discussion on this topic. A review of the main contributions made in relation to the analysis and decision procedures in the field of clinical ethics as well as their probable application to the Nursing Care process is made. It is concluded that the basic ideas for making a Cuban proposal in this sphere should be structured on the basis of the stages of the Nursing Care Process, have a marxist moral foundation and an ethic scale that establishes as a deontological rule the higher hierarchy of the social values over the individual ones.
