Pregnancy in adolescence is a big concern at present. Studies performed by Cuban demographers have shown a rejuvenation in fecundity. With the aim of assessing the biological, psychical and social repercussion of pregnancy in adolescence, a longitudinal descriptive study was conducted from April 1999 to April 2000 on a sample of 150 pregnant adolescents from all the medical offices of "Manuel González Díaz" teaching polychinics in Bahia Honda municipality, Pinar del Río province. For information gathering, a survery-type model was designed, which included variables such as: age, geographic location, marital status, age of menarche and first sexual intercourse, educational level, disorders in pregnancy, type of detection and some psychological variables. These results were transferred tocontingency tables for their statistical analysis by means of MICROSTAT computer system using percent model. Once the information had been processed, the reviewed literature was consulted and it was concluded that pregnancy in adolescence has a great repercussion at this stage of lige when the body is not ready for assume it. The highest percentage was 16-17 age group, with and educational level of junior high school, and most of them had their first sexual intercourse at 14-15 years-old.
