Abstract

Population aging isn’t an exclusive phenomenon of present societies, it has been present in all stage of social development. Cuba is nowadays a developing country whith a significant aging of its population, from the demographic point of view, has been different implications among them and of a great importance is the human and ethical characteristic that must to be present in care of elderlies. Main aim of this paper was to assess the characteristic above mentioned with respect to integral care to aged people in Cuba. To achievement of this aim wew made a descriptive study assesing presence of human and ethical features present in the three sub-programs of integral care of aged people: community care, institutional care, and hospital care. We conclude that human and ethical characteristic is present in all and each of programs of aged people, also, the involvement of family and community is added. Political and People organizations guarantee quality life and health of elderlies. It is recommended to maintain and to reiforce tasks devoted to preparation of human resources giving care to aged people, and guarantee technical-scientific, professional, elthical and human training that must to be present in care art.
