Abstract

The present study is part of the research work conducted by the author of the paper in her Ph D studies that will be carried out from September 2007 to December 2009 in "Plaza de la Revolución" municipality, City of Havana province. It is an intervention using combined methods (qualitative and quantitative) and a quasi-experimental-type component, that is, an exant/expost evaluation without a control group, for ethical reasons. The objective of the research is to design intervention strategies aimed at primary caregivers of advanced breast cancer women, who received palliative care service at home in "Plaza de la Revolución" municipality during 2008 and 2009. The results of the instruments applied to 37 caregivers were presented, which provided the sociodemographic characterization of these people and also identified the most affected life quality dimensions together with their level of satisfaction; all of them matched with the national and international research outcomes.
