Introduction:

The imbalanced relationship between man and the environment can lead to environmental degradation and, consequently, to strong impacts on human health.

Objective:

Methods:

The data were collected using the semi-structured interview and asystematic observation. They were analyzed in the light of the procedures appropriate to the method; namely, open coding, axial coding, and integration.

Results:

Two categories emerged: positively relating socio-environmental issues to lifestyle and negatively impacting socio-environmental relationships with overall health.

Conclusion:

Socio-environmental repercussions in the lifestyle and overall health can be configured in a positive or negative way, depending on the meaning attributed to the phenomenon by the riverside individual, given the uniqueness of human actions.
