Resumen

MARTIN-MARTIN, Giraldo J; NODA-LEYVA, Yolai; OLIVERA-CASTRO, Yuseika  y  PENTON- FERNANDEZ, Gertrudis. Use of stimulators in the survival and leaf development of Morus alba propagules. Pastos y Forrajes [online]. 2016, vol.39, n.1, pp.14-18. ISSN 0864-0394.

A study was conducted in order to determine the effect of naphtaleneacetic acid (NAA) and water on the survival and leaf development of Morus alba propagules, and for such purpose a completely randomized block design with factorial arrangement was used. The treatments consisted in three varieties: tigreada, yu-62 and universidadmejorada, and two rooting-stimulating substances of the propagules: NAA and water, in addition to the control (without products). The quantity of plants that survived and the green weight of the leaf area were measured. The propagules of the var. tigreada showed between 91 and 100 % of survival; in the case of the var. yu-62 and universidadmejorada, this indicator was favored by the use of NAA and water. The lowest weight of the leaf area was shown by the var. universidad mejorada (14,55 g), when it was not inoculated. This study allows to conclude that the tigreada variety stood out in terms of survival, for which it is considered one of those with higher potential regarding establishment and efficiency in asexual reproduction. With the use of water as rooting vehicle the propagation of the new varieties (universidad mejorada and yu-62) can be achieved; in addition, water and NAA allowed the plants to express an adequate development of their leaf area since early ages.

Palabras clave : naphtaleneacetic acid; water; rooting.
