The main characteristics of the epidemic neuropathy, wich appeared in Cuba in 1992, are exposed. The epidemiological elements of the disease, the most important physiological aspects that may influence on its origin, as well as the predominant clinical manifestations and the results of complementary studies for diagnosis are described.
