Abstract

GONZALEZ-CARBAJAL PASCUAL, Miguel  and  HERNANDEZ GARCES, Héctor. Helicobacter pylori: Su importancia como problema de salud en la comunidad. Rev Cubana Med Gen Integr [online]. 1998, vol.14, n.6, pp.611-618. ISSN 0864-2125.

A review is made on the links existing between Helicobacter pylori and chronic gastritis, gastroduodenal ulcer, stomach cancer, and B-cell lymphoma, as well as on some aspects connected with the epidemiology and treatment of this infection. It is suggested the possibility that similar models of infection be associated to other diseases, and that this infection original from Europe had been introduced in America as a result of the encounter between these two cultures

Keywords : HELICOBACTER PYLORI; HELICOBACTER INFECTIONS [epidemiology]; GASTRITIS [epidemiology]; PEPTIC ULCER [epidemiology]; STOMACH NEOPLASMS [epidemiology]; LYMPHOMA, B-CELL [epidemiology].
