Climateric and menopause are among the multiple applications of Asian traditional medicine. This gives us new possibilities for the treatment of patients going through this stage of life. Some general considerations based on the theories of traditional medicine that serve as a foundation of the physiological changes occurring in a woman’s life are presented. Reference is made to the different syndromes in which we may group these patients, and to their treatment as regards the diverse acupunture points and the technique used with each of them
