Abstract

A review is made on evidence-based medicine, its concept, stages and objectives. Elements are given on its usefulness, as well as on the need to update the information and on the requirements to obtain and use the evidences. It is also stressed that evidence-based medicine cannot solve all the problems we face and that it is necessary an adequate balance among evidences, physiopathologic theories and personal experience
