The clinical characteristics of the skin lesions produced by dermatophytes or filamentous fungus are explained. Emphasis is made on the measures of education, prevention and control of these affections at the primary health care level. The different threapeutic topical and systemic maneuvers to be used in the treatment are also approached. Reference is made to the therapeutic possibilities that natural and traditional medicine have for these patients.
