Abstract

In spite of the sanitation improvement in many countries, viral hepatitis A remains a health problem that occurs in the form of outbreaks which very frequently affect enclosed institutions such as day-care centers, kindergartens, boarding schools, camps, and military barracks, among others. This article makes a documentary review on the topic and summarizes the main measures that the primary health care personnel should take to control viral hepatitis A foci in enclosed institutions.
