A pilot study was made on 44 cases referred to the Department of Physiotherapy of our municipality and diagnosed with light and moderate essential blood hypertension. They were administered 15 sessions of discontinuous electromagnetic field for 15 minutes. To find the level of effectiveness, we used the McNemar´s statistical method and the reduction in blood pressure values, mainly the maximum pressure was really very significant. There was also a favorable socio-economic effect since the saving in terms of drug consumption was $481.32 after the application of this technique.
