The importance of prognosis and its role as a fundamental part of the doctor´s work was defined, underlining its components, factors that affect it and the supporting basis for prognosis. The final considerations emphasize that the family doctors due to his/her experience and knowledge about the patients fulfilled the requirements for making the most accurate prognosis.
