A case with diagnosis of actinic keratosis in the health area of "Elpidio Berovides", in La Lisa municipality, is presented. It is our interest to demonstrate the non-clinicohistopathological correlation. This asymptomatic patient, carrier of a skin lesion of 30 years of evolution, was seen at the physician's office. A histopathological study was indicated and samples of the skin were taken twice in different sites of the lesion: the first sample with diagnosis of solid basocellular epithelioma, and the second sample was taken in 3 different sites of the lesion with final diagnosis of actinic keratosis. Although this is a common disease, this case is presented because it is not usual to find it in the localization where this patient had it, and even less in black people. We should not understimate it, since we live in a tropical country with a very hot and sunny climate.
