In present paper are described in a synthetic way, the different stages by which the primary care system has transited in Cuba, and the appearance of the care model of Cuban family medicine, as well as the changes occurred from the rise of ideas battle program, and the health revolution program. We made reference to the new concepts and challenges of polyclinic like part of Health National System, to main features of active investigation method, and the use of health integral checkup in population.
