INTRODUCTION: aging study and its features becomes in priority care matter of a present justified interest due to increase of third age persons ratio in population. METHODS: to assess the health care quality offered to third age persons in its dimensions, structure, process and result from the "5 de Septiembre" polyclinic, Playa municipally including a sample of 300 persons aged 60 or more and more than 4 consulting rooms by sampling according two-stage conglomerate. RESULTS: there were difficulties affecting quality offered to third age person including insufficient human resources, physicians, nurses, geriatricians, internists, and psychologist. No consulting room was assessed as appropriate due to two or three physicians must to work in a same consulting room without any privacy and there is a ophthalmologist deficit. The level of acceptable knowledges on National Program of Integral Care to Third Age Persons and Arterial Pressure achieved by physicians was of 45,4% and in nurses was of 72,7 %. Medical record quality was not acceptable, and others insufficiencies in user satisfaction were identified according to they want to achieve and can not and that they receive without desire and the presence of weakness in care quality to third age persons. CONCLUSIONS: available structure to guarantee health care to third age person has insufficiencies regarding human recourses, materials, and user satisfaction, which negatively influences in quality of care process population aged 60 or more.
