Abstract

The intra-family violence to Latin-American woman is analyzed like a phenomenon going beyond the cultural, religious and social barriers, demanding a transformation and a fast action by part of the national health systems, since it has nowadays an important place within the public health problems and for its solution it is necessary to know it and to carried out actions for prevention and control. It is demonstrated how this problem is increasing in the different societies. The different classifications of this problem are recognized according to the context and we assessed the different theoretical models trying to explain this sociocultural reality to deepen on the subject and to contribute in this way, to develop the knowledge of all the medical sciences staff in this area. Approaching of this serious problem of intrafamily violence leads to investigate on its origin and to try to solve its question marks to confront, to prevent and to eradicate it and to be change's agents to create health and healthy lifestyles.
