Drug use, final link in the chain, can be approached from different perspectives depending on the applications of analysis performed. Their analysis is useful for some applications, particularly managing and health policies. In the guidelines for Health Situation Analysis (HAS), the role that drugs have on the health of the community is not addressed. In this sense, it is intended to reflect upon the relevance of the topic "drugs" in the methodological proposals that guide HAS implementation. In the health field, the use of analysis of the health situation of the Cuban people through drug-related indicators is absent. It is necessary to include them in the analysis of the health situation in order to establish priorities in line with the identified problems and to develop the draft action plan with emphasis on performing tasks feasible at each level.
