Since October 1996, Cuba was officially connected to the international network of INTERNET computers. Our medical faculties will count on this service and from the next course this subject will be included in the programm of study for medical students. For this reason we consider indispensable that all students have a minimum of knoledge regarding the functioning of this network. We intend to explain in a simple way that INTERNET is, its functioning, the services that it renders and the advantages and disadvantages that its utili-zation may provide in Cuba.
