This paper sets forth basic concepts on tutorial teaching in the formation of the Comprehensive General Medicine specialist and also a 5-step methodological proposal to carry it out. This proposal results from the experience of a group of professors in "Raul Sánchez" Teaching Polyclinics of "Dr Ernesto Che Guevara de la Serna" Faculty of Medicine. This type of teaching is considered to be essential since it allows to gain high degree of independence and creativity by the resident and recognizes at the same time the high scientific and teaching preparation that the professors should have.
