Abstract

The present paper is aimed at encouraging those professionals working in Medical Education to think about the qualities and capabilities that a professor should have as part of the teaching mastery to be attained in his/her professional practice. It also underlines the role of the communicative pattern in the contemporary education, particularly the Medical Education. From a current vision of the educational-teaching process and leading role of the student in this process, the paper analyzes and describes the main qualities and capabilities that a professor should have and develop as a fundamental element for planning and developing a quality teaching-learning process and achieving in this way better results in the formation of future professionals with sound scientific-technical knowledge, committed to and integrated into our society, with cognitive independence and creativity to grasp their professional work.
