The application of the University Health Management module as part of the medical education master´s course, aimed at the future professors of the medical career in the Latin American University involved the articulation of practical exercises in keeping with the theoretical context of the curricula that allow them to convey knowledge and acquire habits, abilities and dexterity required for their performance as educators, and also, at the institutional level, to provide them with working tools that will facilitate to analyze the past, to make assessment in the present and obtain experience for the future of a University in charge of forming the professionals that the population's health needs require. All the above-mentioned may be achieved by applying the situational analysis of the strategic planning of health interventions in the managerial theory and the human resources management. After identifying the institution´s mission, an analysis was made of the institution´s situation and its external context, through: the positional implementation in the subjective, intersubjective, objective and historical analysis; the determination of the type of management which we aspire to and the quality that is expected; the formulation of the institutional vision and its objectives together with the creation of the situation-objective element to arrive at identifying the institutional problems and their external context as a first step of the planned exercise. The sequential presentation of the steps followed by the group allowed, by an andragogic and strategic process, establishing the guidelines to cope with the prospective situations in the working context
